UK faces investment risks over new oil fields
Equinor has warned that it may halt further investments in the UK if new oil and gas fields at Rosebank and Jackdaw are not approved, highlighting concerns over the UK's future energy security. The UK government is currently deciding whether to grant final approval for extraction at these sites, despite a pledge to ban new fields in Labour's manifesto. The decision, influenced by environmental and political considerations, will impact the UK’s ability to produce its own oil and gas amid declining domestic output and increasing reliance on imports.
