Small Prophets review: Crook's reflective series
Mackenzie Crook's new series, “Small Prophets,” premiering on Apple TV, centers on Michael Sleep, a man whose life has been on pause since his girlfriend’s disappearance seven years earlier. Set mainly around a suburban cul-de-sac, the show explores themes of friendship, memory, and curiosity while involving a treasure hunt and metaphysical experiments inspired by alchemy. The series features characters navigating their ordinary lives with hints of the mysterious and surreal, culminating in Michael seeking answers from a legendary homunculus.
