Record £2.1m Whisky Sells
A rare bottle of Scotch whisky from the Macallan distillery, distilled 100 years ago, sold for £2.1 million at Sotheby's in Scotland. The auction, held at the distillery itself, featured only 40 bottles from a single cask, decorated with artwork by notable artists. This sale set a new record, making it the second most expensive whisky ever sold and highlighting its status as one of the world's most valuable whiskeys.
