Palantir AI probe results in volunteer chief's departure
The Metropolitan Police has dismissed its volunteer chief officer after AI technology uncovered that he used his work phone to copy intimate images sent via WhatsApp. The misconduct was identified during an investigation using Palantir's Foundry AI system, which is part of the force's efforts to detect corruption and misconduct. The officer will be barred from serving in policing again, amid scrutiny over the use of AI technology in police oversight.
