Record heat wave hits Central and Eastern US before weekend cold snap
Unseasonably high fall temperatures are affecting over 20 states across the U.S., with temperatures reaching into the 90s and humidity making it feel like summer. A cold front is expected to arrive later this week, dropping temperatures by around 40 degrees and bringing frost and colder temperatures to the Northeast, Midwest, and Great Plains. The cold snap will last through the weekend before warmer weather returns next week.
