Sonoma winery halts tasting room amid declining visits
Passaggio Wines, a California winery in Sonoma County, is closing its tasting room after 20 years due to declining sales and a 40% decrease in revenue over recent years. The owner cited increased competition from alternative beverages and a drop in wine demand, with US consumption falling 4.3% last year. The broader industry faces challenges from trade disruptions, declining exports, and changing consumer preferences.
