Mendocino’s Skunk Train Adds Luxury Car
The Skunk Train in Mendocino County has introduced an adults-only cocktail lounge on rails called the Noyo, offering two-hour, 16-mile round trips from Willits through redwood country. Due to tunnel collapses and legal disputes, the full historic route between Willits and Fort Bragg remains blocked, so trips now operate on shorter segments, including a new railcar with upscale amenities and cocktails. Trips include scenic views of redwoods, crossing tunnels and passing through a once-logging camp area, with some excursions offering charcuterie and vintage ambiance, despite ongoing efforts to reopen the full route.
