Federal inquiry targets Ilhan Omar citizenship
The federal investigation into Representative Ilhan Omar focuses on allegations of immigration fraud related to her citizenship status, with authorities examining whether her family misrepresented her age or her father's military history when she became a citizen as a minor. Agents searched her home and subpoenaed her relatives as part of efforts to revoke her citizenship and potentially deport her, though Omar claims the efforts are politically motivated. The case has garnered attention amid broader efforts by the Trump administration to pursue denaturalization cases, making Omar a prominent target due to her background and political stance.
