Cornell defense opposes Letitia James furor
A Cornell University fraternity member's lawyer has requested to have New York Attorney General Letitia James removed as special prosecutor in a civil sexual assault case. The lawyer argued that James's public support for the accuser and her statements have compromised her impartiality. The case involves allegations stemming from an incident at Cornell's Chi Phi fraternity house, but prosecutors previously declined criminal charges due to insufficient evidence. The case has drawn political scrutiny, with the lawyer challenging James's appointment, citing her comments and perceived bias.
