Newsom's team learns constitutional limits
A three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court has blocked California’s "No-Longer-So-Golden State" law, which aimed to restrict federal immigration enforcement by requiring non-uniformed federal agents to display identification and criminalizing their actions. The court ruled that this law violates the Supremacy Clause, which establishes federal law as supreme, and cannot interfere with federal operations. The decision affirms that states cannot regulate or criminalize federal agents carrying out immigration laws, emphasizing that such state laws are unconstitutional and unenforceable.
