Persistent political messages despite blocking
The article discusses how political organizations increasingly send unsolicited fundraising texts using multiple phone numbers and complex tactics like "snowshoeing" to evade blocking efforts. Despite attempts to stop these messages by replying STOP or reporting, the texts persist due to organizations cycling through various numbers and sharing contact lists obtained from donor and voter databases. The article explains that filtering, blocking, and reporting can reduce unwanted messages, but due to legal and technological workarounds, completely stopping these texts remains challenging.
