Matthew Farwell trial: Sandra Birchmore's father to testify
A federal trial is underway for former police detective Matthew Farwell, who is accused of killing Sandra Birchmore, a pregnant woman. DNA evidence confirmed that Jason Pickard, a US Army Reserve master sergeant, fathered Birchmore's unborn child, raising questions about her death. Prosecutors allege Farwell murdered Birchmore to conceal his alleged sexual exploitation of her, while the defense argues she died by suicide due to mental health issues.
