Anchovy Jack, a former street dog who escaped his San Francisco home days after surgery and adoption, spent weeks evading animal control while roaming city neighborhoods. Lost-pet specialist Susan Packer eventually caught him in a humane trap and brought him to the shelter, where he was eating, drinking and resting comfortably. He will not return to his former home and needs a foster placement with a rescue group before he is considered for adoption.
