Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the launch of direct flights between Bahrain International Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport starting from September 29, 2026, coinciding with the hosting of the Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1 race scheduled for October 2026. This move aims to expand the airline's network and strengthen air links between Bahrain and Malaysia, providing direct access to a vital destination in Southeast Asia. An intensive flight schedule will be operated during the race period, with regular service continuing afterward, in order to meet the growing demand for travel to participate in this global event.
