China plans robotic dogs for Moon base security
A Chinese study has revealed the use of "robot dogs" in tasks such as lunar surface patrol and exploration, as Beijing plans to establish a permanent research station near the Moon's south pole by 2035. The robots will handle field missions, inspections, manufacturing, as well as organizing living environments and providing psychological support for astronauts. China is accelerating the development of its lunar research station project, aiming to send the first crew before 2030 and achieve sustainable utilization of lunar resources. The plans face challenges related to weak digital infrastructure and the absence of advanced artificial intelligence systems necessary for collaborative work between humans and robots.
