GCC Secretary-General Highlights Industry Role

The Kingdom of Bahrain is hosting the events of the "Made in the Gulf 2026" Forum and Exhibition, which embodies the vision of Gulf country leaders that industry is a key pillar for diversifying the economy and strengthening economic power. The region is home to more than 22,000 factories, employing over 1.7 million workers. The manufacturing sector contributes 13% to the gross domestic product. The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council confirmed that the event focuses on making Gulf products the first choice for consumers and investors both locally and globally. It also aims to unify industrial policies and standards, promote industrial cooperation among GCC countries to achieve a stronger and more competitive industrial integration, all in support of sustainable development goals in industry and innovation.
