Films and shows exploring true crimes
The article discusses the phenomenon of focusing Egyptian artwork on real-life crimes, especially cases that shook public opinion, presented through dramatic forms that blend suspense, crime, and psychological analysis. It shows that the television and film industries have turned toward re-telling true events through series and movies based on legal files and incidents witnessed by society, with dramatic modifications made to emphasize excitement. Examples include the series "Al-Qissa Al-Kamela" (The Complete Story), which covers each crime over three separate episodes, and series such as "Li'b Jahanam" (Hell's Game) about the Shubra El Kheima child's murder, "Ma Lam Yukha H" (What Was Never Told) about the famous Beni Mazar massacre, and "Sa'atuhu wa Tarikhuhu" (His Hour and Its Date), which presents real legal cases from Egyptian courts. The "Giza Killer" case is among the most prominent crimes that have been dramatized, along with the film "Suffah Al-Tajammu'" (The Gathering Killer) which deals with a serial murder linked to a notorious serial killer. Furthermore, other works explore actual psychological and criminal cases to enhance artistic interest in crime stories and their impact across various media platforms.
