The Port of Latakia recorded increasing activity during this year, welcoming 394 ships and handling approximately 2.86 million tons of cargo. The vessels varied between general cargo ships and container ships, with around 171,000 containers processed. This improvement is attributed to measures aimed at enhancing port efficiency, including simplifying customs procedures and equipping the port with modern technologies, with the goal of speeding up operations and increasing capacity.
