Russian diesel ship heads to New York
Reports indicate that a Russian tanker flying the Maltese flag is headed toward New York, carrying 40,000 tons of diesel. This comes as part of a Russian-American agreement to lift Russia's export ban on diesel in an effort to reduce fuel prices. Russia has announced the shipment of initial diesel deliveries to the United States, with the first batch expected to arrive soon, followed by larger quantities totaling 300,000 tons immediately, and 500,000 tons in November, then a million tons thereafter. The goal of the agreement is to meet the U.S. market's fuel needs and help stabilize prices.
