Journalist Mustafa Bekkari spoke about an attempt to incite sectarian strife in Egypt, explaining that the controversial statements regarding the absence of Christian players in the Egyptian national team were fabricated and exploited by external entities such as Israel to promote ideas of discrimination. He emphasized that football in Egypt is about talent and effort, and that Egyptians—both Muslims and Christians—constitute a united national fabric. He reaffirmed that Egyptian identity brings everyone together without discrimination. Additionally, he stated that Copts are an integral part of society and participate in building the nation across all its institutions.
