Gold prices drop Friday morning
Global gold prices experienced a significant decline at the start of trading on Friday, June 26, 2026, with the ounce losing about $27 and bouncing back below the $4,000 mark, registering $3,999. This occurred amid market anticipation of geopolitical developments and economic outlooks related to the U.S. Federal Reserve's policies. Locally, gold prices remained steady at previous levels, with the 21-karat coin trading between 5,700 and 5,730 pounds, with a spread of approximately 50 pounds between buying and selling prices.
