Zahran Mamadani mocks City and Liverpool in 10 words
The mayor of New York, Zahran Mamdani, sarcastically commented on Manchester City, considering that "they shouldn't be in the English Premier League" due to their conviction for serious financial violations related to breaching regulations over nine seasons between 2009 and 2018. These violations involved 114 charges and amounts exceeding 900 million British pounds. This statement was made during a press conference to announce an economic development plan, during which he took the opportunity, by noticing a journalist who supports Liverpool, to mock City's 3-0 loss, implying that the club does not deserve to be in the league. Manchester City rejected the results of the investigation and is preparing to appeal. Despite this, Manchester City is currently leading the English Premier League under the management of coach Enzo Mariska, while the debate continues regarding its future and potential sanctions.
