Assiut Governor Approves Population Plan to Promote Development and Improve Demographics

Assiut Governorate, led by Major General Muhammad Alwan, has approved a population plan for the fiscal year 2026-2027. The goal is to promote development and improve demographic characteristics within the framework of the National Population and Development Strategy and Egypt’s Vision 2030. The plan includes awareness programs and service initiatives targeting various regions and groups, with a focus on supporting family development, reproductive health services, reducing illiteracy and school dropout rates, and empowering women and youth. Community participation and continuous monitoring of performance are emphasized in the implementation to ensure an improved quality of life and to promote sustainable development.
