Environmental alerts on keeping wild animals at home
Environmental experts warn of the dangers of keeping wild animals as pets, especially endangered species, as this disrupts ecological balance and increases the likelihood of diseases transmitting from animals to humans. Dr. Abdel Masih Samaan affirmed that the removal or extinction of any wild animal species negatively impacts food chains and biodiversity. He also noted that rising temperatures and climate change contribute to the appearance of reptiles in residential areas. He emphasized the need to enforce laws, raise environmental awareness, and expand natural reserves, along with recommending not keeping wild animals at home to protect public health and maintain ecological balance.
