Francesca Albanese on Israel's policies
The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Francesca Albanese, stated that Israel represents a project of a state based on extermination and apartheid segregation. She reaffirmed that her vision for resolving the Palestinian issue is limited to the absence of Palestine between the river and the sea. She called on the international community to punish Israel, halt cooperation with it, and impose sanctions. She emphasized that occupation, settlement expansion, and forced displacement have persisted for decades, and that violations in Gaza continue with the destruction of infrastructure and the imposition of a blockade. She called for an immediate stop to these violations and for Israel to be held accountable for the crimes, warning that ongoing support for settlement expansion and annexation must cease. Ultimately, she stressed the need to end the occupation to achieve Palestinian justice.
