The Supply updates newborn eligibility categories
The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade announces the possibility of adding newborns to food subsidy cards via the Egypt Digital Portal, as part of the new cash support system to be implemented before August. The program targets specific groups of low-income families, such as those receiving Takaful and Karama social pensions, children and spouses of martyrs, and informal workers, aiming to improve the targeting of support and reduce assistance to ineligible households. Eligible families will be registered within 15 days through electronic procedures that require conditions such as the applicant being the head of the family and the absence of deceased individuals among the household members, in order to facilitate more accurate and transparent distribution of support.
