At least seven people were killed after a ferry capsized off the northern coast of Cyprus, carrying more than 250 passengers. Rescue teams managed to save 237 individuals, while search efforts are ongoing for 23 missing persons. The ferry overturned shortly after departing from Kyrenia, in rough sea conditions, with water leaking into its double hull. Authorities were alerted via a distress call four nautical miles from the shore.
