Minister of Electricity Mahmoud Esmat directed electricity distribution companies in Egypt not to rely on unmetered readings to ensure accurate recording of customers' consumption, and to activate a billing system based on actual readings. He also emphasized the need to handle malfunctioning meters, provide emergency replacement meters immediately upon reporting, and audit electricity bills along with regular reports to ensure quality. Additionally, he called for strengthening oversight committees and increasing technical support teams. These measures aim to ensure fair and accurate billing of electricity consumption and to improve services for citizens.
