The article focused on a controversy surrounding comments made by media personality Karim Hassan Shahat with Wael Gomaa, the football director at Al-Ahly club, after the team’s 2-0 victory over ZED in the Egyptian Premier League. Wael Gomaa clarified that his conversation with referee Mohamed Maaref was about the legitimacy of a penalty awarded to Ali Mahmoud, not regarding the player leaving the field. He emphasized that decisions regarding team substitutions and management are solely the responsibility of the technical director, and any external interference in technical decisions is not permitted. The article also points out that Al-Ahly’s management is considering filing a complaint against Karim Hassan Shahat due to statements that could harm the team’s reputation.
