The article focused on the efforts of the Eastern Governorate in cultivating cotton, which is considered a strategic crop with significant economic and industrial value in Egypt. It noted that the governorate is preparing to collect the harvest through the establishment of 26 marketing outlets, supported by three ginning mills in the main centers. A total of 37,000 feddans have been cultivated out of the targeted 40,000 feddans. The planting season begins in mid-April and continues through May, with the harvest starting in early September. The northern sector dominates most of the cultivated areas due to the presence of the ends of irrigation canals and the experienced farmers' flexibility in cultivating cotton, which is known as "white gold."
