The Ministry of Awqaf intends to open 16 new mosques tomorrow across 11 governorates as part of its efforts to develop houses of worship in Egypt. This includes the construction of three new mosques, the renovation and restoration of nine mosques, and the maintenance of four other mosques. This initiative is part of the ministry's plan to rebuild and modernize mosques since July 2026, having already inaugurated 181 mosques so far. The goal of this initiative is to provide an appropriate spiritual environment for worshippers and to strengthen the religious and intellectual role of mosques across various governorates.
