The Egyptian government announced that Thursday, October 8, 2026, will be an official paid holiday instead of Tuesday, October 6, to celebrate the anniversary of October War victories and Armed Forces Day. This holiday coincides with the anniversary of the October 1973 War victories and includes all workers in the government sector, public sector, and private companies. The latter is the last official paid holiday in the 2026 calendar, followed by the first official holiday of 2027 on January 7th for Christmas.
