Israel closes crossings before October 7th anniversary
The Israeli occupation closed the crossings leading to the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip on October 5 and 7, coinciding with the anniversary of the October 7, 2023 operation, in accordance with the decisions of Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz. Humanitarian supplies, such as those for healthcare workers, are still allowed through the checkpoints, along with exceptions based on the whims of the coordinator of affairs in the territories. It was also announced that aid would not enter Gaza during those days, despite ongoing efforts to collect it at the Kerem Shalom crossing.
