A joint archaeological team has uncovered a bronze ring featuring an engraving depicting the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria, in an exceptional discovery made during excavations in the Eastern Port area of Alexandria. It is believed that the ring is connected to the administration of King Antigonus's palace, which continued to be in use until the second century AD. The lighthouse engraving on the ring aligns with images found on some coins from that era. This is the first discovery of its kind to showcase an image of the Lighthouse of Alexandria engraved on a ring, enhancing our understanding of the administrative history of the region and highlighting the significance of this find in the study of ancient civilization and maritime antiquities in the area.
