Esmat: Violations Cause 7% Electricity Loss

It was reported that the Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Esmat, stated that the percentage of electricity loss caused by user encroachments is approximately 7%, while the loss in electricity distribution reaches 16.7%, of which 10% is technical loss. The ministry is working on improving the networks to reduce these rates and increase system efficiency, in addition to enacting laws to address encroachments and enhance performance. He also pointed out that the loss rate in electricity generation is around 4%, which is considered a technical loss related to transmitting electricity from power plants to the networks. These measures are part of the ministry’s efforts to preserve energy resources and boost the efficiency of electricity use.
