Yousry Abu Shadi, a former senior expert at the International Atomic Energy Agency, said inspections had not established that Iran was making a nuclear weapon. He described its program as peaceful, while noting that Iran possessed the capabilities and components needed to build a bomb. He estimated that Tehran had around 450 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%, and that enriching it to 90% could take about three weeks. He added that agency inspectors had not entered the tunnel complex at the “Jabal al-Fas” site and that no reliable information about its activities was available.
