U.S. President Donald Trump said Washington does not intend to launch an immediate attack on Iran, but did not rule out military action if necessary, stressing that U.S. forces are ready to act. He said he was satisfied with the course of economic pressure and the blockade, which he said had damaged Iran’s economy, and spoke of increased oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz. He added that indirect contacts with Tehran were continuing and included its stockpile of enriched uranium, and claimed that previous U.S. strikes had eliminated Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
