2026-27 Home Exam Guide
Applications to sit the General Secondary Education Certificate examinations as home candidates for the 2026–2027 academic year opened in the first week of November and will remain open until the first week of December. Those wishing to take the transfer examination for the first year of secondary school must apply to the educational administration for approval and submit an application on the approved form, along with the original documents and an identification card issued free of charge. Applicants are ranked according to their preparatory-school certificate scores, within the quota set for each school. Schools review the documents, have students enter their details in their own handwriting, and retain the identification card. They then send the list of applicants and proof of payment of the examination fee to the educational administration before the end of December. Photocopies of documents will not be accepted.
