Portugal walkout divides nation
The controversy between Cristiano Ronaldo and coach Jorge Jesus over team selection and conduct has caused a major public dispute in Portugal. Ronaldo's decision to walk out after being benched during a recent match has led to divisive reactions nationally, with some supporters defending him and others criticizing his behavior. Jesus asserted control over team tactics, refusing to change his decisions despite Ronaldo’s frustrations, which resulted in Ronaldo leaving the team hotel and posting a social media message. The incident threatens Ronaldo’s future with the national team amid ongoing speculation about his departure and potential disciplinary action by the Portuguese Football Federation.
