Jalen Duren Signs 200M Deal with Pistons
Jalen Duren, an All-Star center for the Detroit Pistons, accepted a fully guaranteed five-year, $200 million contract to remain with the team, ending a four-month salary dispute. He had previously declined a five-year, $287 million maximum offer and did not report to preseason activities, feeling undervalued by the team's previous offers and unhappy with weight-related clauses. His decision comes after feeling slighted in comparison to a recent contract extension for another Pistons player.
