Settlers assault Press Photographer in West Bank
Israeli settlers assaulted AFP photographer Jaafar Ashtiyeh while he was covering violence against olive farmers in the West Bank, in view of Israeli soldiers who did not intervene. Ashtiyeh was beaten with rifle butts and hospitalized with bruises after the attack, which occurred during increased settler violence ahead of upcoming Israeli elections. The incident highlights ongoing tensions and the suppression of press freedom in the region.
