The Scottish Professional Football League has invited bids to broadcast all Scottish Premiership matches from 2029, including Saturday 3pm kick-offs currently blocked under Uefa’s Article 48. The move is expected to be the first step in a coordinated effort by UK leagues to end the blackout, which currently prevents live football broadcasts between 2.45pm and 5.15pm on Saturdays. The leagues see wider broadcast rights as a way to increase revenue.
