The Israeli ambassador in Washington confirmed that the agreement signed with Lebanon is an important step toward reasserting sovereignty. It includes the withdrawal of Iran and Hezbollah from Lebanon and the pursuit of peace, with Israeli forces remaining in the security zone in Lebanon until Hezbollah is disarmed. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the agreement, viewing it as a significant blow to Iran and noting that it would lead to a temporary Israeli presence in Lebanon. The meeting took place at the U.S. Department of State, attended by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The statement also indicated that work between the two sides is still in its early stages.
