Dana Gas and Oil of the North announced the start of natural gas supplies from Kormor Field in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to Kirkuk Power Plant, amounting to 100 million cubic feet per day for one year, in response to the increased energy demand and to improve electricity services in Iraq. This follows the completion of the Kormor 250 expansion project, which increased production capacity to 750 million cubic feet per day—a 50% boost—contributing to the strengthening of gas supplies and the development of the region’s energy sector. The project supplies approximately 80% of electricity generation in Kurdistan, and it is expected that the economic impact will double in the coming years with additional expansions.
