The General Customs Authority announced the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle approximately 45,000 narcotic pills hidden inside an empty tank coming from Syria. The drugs were detected following a thorough inspection conducted in coordination with security authorities and the Al-Walid Customs Center. The suspect was arrested and handed over to the judicial authorities to take the necessary legal procedures. Security measures to prevent drug smuggling through border crossings continue.
