Ministers exempt import foods and medicines

The Iraqi Council of Ministers, in a session held under the chairmanship of Ali Faleh Al-Zaydi, decided to exempt imported food products and medicines from customs duties starting from October 7th of this year, in order to support market stability and provide basic goods at affordable prices for citizens, especially after the rise in the prices of some of these items due to the increase in the dollar exchange rate from 1,320 to 1,520 dinars. This decision coincides with the rising oil prices amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, and the measure is considered a step to stimulate the market and reduce financial burdens on citizens.
