Aramco resumes facilities after drone attack
Saudi Aramco announced the development of a rapid response system to ensure the swift repair of its oil facilities and resume operations within days of an attack, especially those carried out via drones. Following the pipeline targeting last month and damages caused by Houthi attacks, the company is now able to quickly assess damages using drones, reducing repair times to just days. Aramco enhanced its capabilities after the 2019 attack on the Abqaiq facility and is preparing for the possibility of simultaneous attacks on multiple sites by expanding its spare parts stockpiles and operational rooms. The company also studied alternative export routes for the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb, and the Suez Canal to address maritime challenges.
