American delegation pulls out of Security Council meeting
The US delegation withdrew from a United Nations Security Council meeting in protest over French remarks they deemed hostile. France had made a statement comparing certain issues to North Korea and Russia in the context of human rights concerns. The American official described France's stance as "hypocritical" and criticized it for not respecting the principles of international dialogue. He affirmed that the United States remains the global model of freedom and stated that they would no longer listen to France’s speeches due to its stubbornness and disconnection from its responsibilities. This withdrawal from Security Council meetings is a rare move and a sign of rising tension between the two sides over human rights positions and international policies.
