Jordan shifts to fully digital licenses
The Driver and Vehicles Licensing Department has announced the complete abolition of traditional plastic documents starting next Sunday. Only electronic driving licenses and vehicle certificates will be issued, in line with the Kingdom's comprehensive digital transformation. The new system includes issuing licenses directly through smartphones, ensuring high levels of data protection and security. Its goal is to save time and effort, reduce reliance on paper documents, and support senior citizens in using the application. The system contains a database with approximately three million valid driving licenses and two million one hundred thousand vehicle licenses. It focuses on efficiently accommodating this large volume without service interruptions.
