Rep. Al-Raqab urges Legal Committee to disband
Deputy Ahmed Al-Raqab called for the dissolution of the Legal Committee in the House of Representatives during the discussion of the Real Estate Ownership Draft Law, after adding the phrase "railways" to the definition of roads in the law. He believes that these amendments could lead to the expropriation of a quarter of the lands passing through the railway lines without compensating their owners, which prompted opposition from several deputies who opposed the committee's decision, including Aouni Al-Zu’bi, Nasser Al-Nawasira, and Ayatollah Fraitah. Deputy Ali Al-Khulaileh condemned the request to dissolve the Legal Committee, considering it impossible, while Raqab himself called for its dissolution due to internal disagreements over the amendments.
